Why Is My Child Struggling?
You don't need educational jargon to help your child. Tell us what you notice at the kitchen table, and our learning engine uncovers the hidden prerequisite gap, coaching you on exact words to say and hands-on solutions that work.
Counts on fingers for basic addition and subtraction
"My 7-year-old knows numbers, but still counts on fingers one by one even for 3 + 2 or 5 + 4."
Knows letter sounds but cannot blend into words
"She points and says "/c/ /a/ /t/", but when asked to read the whole word, she says "dog" or guesses randomly."
Subtracts upside down when borrowing is needed (e.g. 52 - 27 = 35)
"When doing 52 minus 27, he subtracts 2 from 7 in the ones column to get 5, ending up with 35 instead of 25."
Reverses "b" and "d" or "p" and "q" when reading & writing
"My child constantly writes "bog" for "dog" or mixes up lowercase b and d in spelling tests."
Good at calculation drills, but freezes on word problems
"She can do 24 + 18 in 10 seconds on a worksheet, but when a problem has sentences, she just guesses whether to add or subtract."
Reads fluently aloud, but cannot recall what was just read
"He reads the whole page out loud smoothly, but when I ask "Why was the boy sad?", he has no idea and stares blankly."
